Services awards were issued for department members based completion of the most training hours, the most physical fitness hours, groups with the most calls, and most reports written, throughout 2022.

“We are in a new station, with new leadership, and two new firefighters, and now we are going to have all-new group dynamics. As a team, we are implementing many changes that we hope will make us a stronger team.”
Chief Lawless also spoke about the challenges and triumphs of being a firefighter, including the dedication each member displays when they walk into the station each day, and the appreciation the department has for families at home.
“We all understand that this occupation is amazing, challenging, rewarding, exhausting, frustrating, exhilarating, tough on our bodies and minds, and challenging for all of you,” said Chief Lawless. “Without the unsung heroes at home, we would not be as successful as we are. We know it can be challenging for you and we want you to have someone to lean on who understands the frustrations of being forced to stay on shift, storm coverage, or seeing your loved one fighting a fire on the news. We all appreciate your support handling life at home as we serve our community.”
