MAYNARD – The Maynard Fire Department would like to invite residents to take part in Home Safety Surveys. These short visits involve a firefighter coming to your home to evaluate your protection devices like Smoke Alarms and CO Alarms as well as providing information on other common home hazards and safety precautions. With more people spending extended time at home and the cold weather approaching, it is important to make where you live as safe as possible. Each visit will also be tailored to address the needs of the resident and family from talking about home escape plans with young children to cooking and heating safety with adults. To request a free visit, please e-mail Captain Michael Parr at mparr@townofmaynard.net or call 978-897-1014.
Home Safety Visits are made possible by the SAFE and Senior SAFE grant programs offered by the State of Massachusetts. This funding helps firefighters make safety presentations in the schools and to seniors. To learn more, please visit https://www.mass.gov/service-details/student-awareness-of-fire-education-safe
